A play adapted in U.K. originally from the Danish movie "Festen" (or "The Celebration," the film's release title in North America). A story of  the hypocracy of a a disfunctional family somewhere in Denmark. At a family member's 60th birthday, a son reveals the father's sexual abuse of him and his twin sister (who has been suffering since and killed herself) over the years since childhood. The family's dispute and confusion over the "truth" and whether it is the truth or the son's imagination upturns during the play and the answer reveals from the dead sister's suicide note.
Design: SECRECY & DENIAL & NEGLIGENCE
The overall household depicted in this play is a disfunctional household where family member's secrecy is kept and neglection and ignorance has been builiding up over the years. I took the image of broken blinds which communicates sense of secrecy and negligence of the family.

The design is centered around the bedroom (the platform) and the bathroom door where the issue happens.
Material for surface:
wood given effect of mouldy/rotten wood for the blind and the floor (floor being brigher in color)
old palinted walls, carpeted floor
